4. Wittington Investments Set to Acquire Boots in $8.9 Billion Deal
Wittington Investments, owned by Canada’s Weston family, agreed to acquire British pharmacy chain Boots for $8.9 billion, including debt, from Sycamore Partners and the Pessina family. Partner Fairfax Financial will hold a 50% stake, while Wittington retains operational control. The deal is expected to close in early 2027. (Read More)
