In the latest edition of her Women’s Retail Collective Podcast Series, Anne Mezzenga interviews Amanda Martinez, Albertsons Companies GVP Procurement.
Amanda was born to be a retailer, spending most of her formative years alongside her dad, walking the aisles of the grocery store he managed. When questioned what a little girl was doing coming to work with dad, he would answer, “My daughter can do anything your sons can do” and was he ever right.
Amanda has taken that confidence her dad instilled in her as a child and has used it, along with a whole lot of hard work, to propel her award-winning career in the grocery industry.
She was the first woman at Safeway to run a distribution center and is now GVP of Procurement for Albertsons Companies.
You’ll want to hear her whole story – including how she applies her degrees in health care administration and gerontology to her strategies for Alberstons stores and on a personal note, what she believes would be the ultimate concert lineup.
