1. Lululemon CEO Steps Down Amid Americas’ Sales Decline
Lululemon CEO Calvin McDonald is stepping down at the end of January amid declining North American sales. CFO Meghan Frank and Chief Commercial Officer André Maestrini will become interim co-CEOs. McDonald, who tripled revenues since 2018, departs as Americas sales declined 2% despite overall revenue growth. (Read More)
2. Amazon Develops Rush Pickup Service at Physical Stores
Amazon is developing a “rush” pickup service allowing shoppers to collect orders at Amazon-owned stores, including Whole Foods and Fresh, within an hour. Customers can place unified orders from Amazon’s marketplace and in-store items. The pilot launch is planned for at least one metro area by Q1 2026. (Read More)
3. Costco Reports Strong Q1 Results with 20% Digital Sales Growth
Costco reported better-than-expected Q1 results with digital sales surging 20.5% year-over-year and website traffic up 24%. Net income rose to $2 billion ($4.50/share), beating expectations of $4.27. Revenue reached $67.3 billion. Membership grew 5.2% to 81.4 million, while comparable sales increased 6.4%. (Read More)
4. Home Depot Launches Creator Portal for Influencers
Home Depot launched its Creator portal connecting digital content creators to earn commissions through shoppable links, access tools, training and product gifting. Thousands enrolled before public launch. “Starting Lineup” creators focus on World Cup content. Initiative competes with Lowe’s Creator Network launched June 2025 targeting millennial/Gen Z shoppers. 5. Target Opens New Design-Focused SoHo Store in NYC
Target opened its redesigned SoHo store featuring “The Drop” seasonal showcase, Broadway Beauty Bar curated by influencers, and “Curated By” partnerships starting with Megan Stalter. The design-focused concept completed in four months under incoming CEO Fiddelke supports $5 billion investment to reverse declining sales through enhanced store experiences. (Read More)
