Dollar General is investing in private brands.
The discounter is expanding its private label brand, Clover Valley, to include new on-trend national brand alternatives, debuting more than 100 new items for 2023, with many featuring stylish new packaging designs. Introduced in 2009, Clover Valley has grown to include approximately 600 items.
The expansion comes as store brands posted record sales and share for the first half of 2023, according to a report from the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA). It also occurs as Dollar General has been steadily increasing its food footprint.
