Walmart is making some of its proprietary store-level technology available to other retailers, with help from a global consulting firm.
The discount giant’s Walmart Commerce Technologies solution provider subsidiary is partnering with Infosys to offer a new app for store associates called Store Assist. Infosys will help retailers implement and use the app, called Store Assist, which is designed to support seamless omnichannel offerings such as pickup, delivery and ship from store.
The Store Assist app is built on the same fulfillment technology used at Walmart stores. It is intended to help retailers optimize in-store fulfillment by increasing picking accuracy, speed, and efficiency; as well as enhance store associate productivity through order queueing, multi-order batch picking and prioritized pick paths.
