An online-only grocery store that sells heavily discounted shelf-stable items is expanding its digital footprint.
Martie has gone live in Texas. The California-based company which launched in late 2021, works with top brands and producers to shop their ever-changing supply of surplus pantry goods — focusing primarily items that would otherwise be thrown out due to overstock, package changing, or seasonality — and sells them online directly to consumers at up to 70% off retail. The company is a preferred partner to national brands such as KIND, Kellogg’s, Quaker, and Annie’s Homegrown on their surplus and overstock inventory.
The merchandise, which includes shelf-stable pantry goods, cooking essentials and household items, is delivered directly to shoppers’ door, with no subscription or membership necessary, within one to two days. Consumers can go to the website, pick the items they want and check out.
