Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT) said Wednesday it will triple the number of Apple at Target mini-shops inside its stores, boosting its consumer electronics offerings ahead of the crucial holiday shopping season.
The Minneapolis-based retailer, which unveiled its first mini stores with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) in early 2021, says the latest expansion brings the total of Apple at Target locations to 150. (The lineup of stores includes 20 locations in Minnesota).
The shops sell Apple’s consumer-electronics product lines — iPhones, Apple Watches, Apple TV devices and accessories are included, for example, but not Apple’s laptop or desktop computers. They also won’t feature Apple’s Genius Bar, a feature of Apple’s own stores where experts can help customers set up new devices or troubleshoot problems — though they will be staffed by Target tech workers trained by Apple.
