Consumers who want their homes to look upscale — at least for a little while — have a new place to shop.
A new online marketplace, called 1RentPlace, offers rentable luxury furniture, art, and home décor and exclusive access to an assorted catalog of items from the most exclusive shops and dealers across the U.S.
Founded by Jake Baer, CEO of the New York-based antique shop Newel and furniture rental company Newel Props, 1RentPlace connects customers to high-end dealers including Bernd Goeckler, Kravet, Carrocel, Bonnin Ashley, and more for short- and long-term rentals. Available inventory on the platform spans rentable items including mid-century modern coffee tables, baroque chairs, Renaissance-inspired candelabras, and rare modern art from famous artists.
