Amazon hit new highs in sales and number of products shipped during the 2020 holiday season.
The e-tail giant delivered more than 1.5 billion toys, home products, beauty and personal care products, and electronics worldwide this holiday. Independent businesses selling on Amazon, nearly all of which are small-and-medium-sized businesses, saw worldwide sales grow over 50% compared to the same time period in 2019. During the holiday season, U.S. small- and medium-sized businesses sold nearly 1 billion products in Amazon’s store.
Amazon’s holiday deliveries included over 8 million items shipped to alternative delivery locations, including Amazon Hub lockers and Amazon physical retail stores like Amazon 4-star and Amazon Books.
