Currently, one of the main goals for Amazon is the electrification of its delivery fleet. For several months, Amazon has been working with Rivian on the realization of this project. Rivian is an automaker based in Michigan. This company will help Amazon deploy 100,000 electric delivery vehicles within 10 years.
On Thursday, Amazon finally unveiled its very first electric vehicle dedicated to order deliveries. From 2021, the first vehicles of this type should see the light of day. According to Rivian, the concept presented on Thursday is capable of traveling 150 miles (over 240 km) on a single charge.
Obviously, this is not an average pickup truck. Delivery people can count on Alexa assistance to facilitate delivery. In particular, Alexa will provide hands-free access to information on routes, traffic and weather, the company said.
