- Macy’s announced that they will be launching same-day delivery for orders of $75 or more in 30 markets, suspending the retailer’s $8 fee, for a limited period of time. The program launches October 1st and is likely a move to increase sales during the holiday season.
- Caper raised $10 million in funding last week, the firm develops software for AI-powered shopping carts in the grab and go retail space. In a press release the firm stated it has increased basket size by 10%, plans to partner with “mega-retailers”, and aims to have more than 1,000 “Caper carts” in the next year.
- Trigo, the check out free shopping start up which aims to offer an Amazon Go-like experience, has raised $22 million in Series A funding. The firm plans to bring its solution to 280 stores in the next five years and is focused on large supermarkets.
Chris Walton is an accomplished Senior Executive with nearly 20 years of success within the retail and retail technology industries. He is well-versed in merchandising, store operations, inventory management, product design, forecasting, e-commerce, pricing and promotions, and tech product development.
Chris was most recently a Vice President with Target, where he led the retailer’s Store of the Future project and also ran the Target’s home furnishing division for e-commerce. He previously worked for GAP, Inc., as a Distribution Analyst and Manager.
Chris holds a BA in Economics and History from Stanford University, and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
