  1. Macy’s announced that they will be launching same-day delivery for orders of $75 or more in 30 markets, suspending the retailer’s $8 fee, for a limited period of time. The program launches October 1st and is likely a move to increase sales during the holiday season.
  2. Caper raised $10 million in funding last week, the firm develops software for AI-powered shopping carts in the grab and go retail space. In a press release the firm stated it has increased basket size by 10%, plans to partner with “mega-retailers”, and aims to have more than 1,000 “Caper carts” in the next year.
  3. Trigo, the check out free shopping start up which aims to offer an Amazon Go-like experience, has raised $22 million in Series A funding. The firm plans to bring its solution to 280 stores in the next five years and is focused on large supermarkets.
