- Walgreens and Kroger are expanding their combined format store to 35 Walgreens locations in the Knoxville, Tennessee area this Fall. The concept incorporates a Walgreen’s store with Kroger Express and Kroger pickup. The partnership also features a “curated selection of Walgreens” owned-brand health and beauty products in 17 Kroger locations.
- Sur La Table has announced Jason Goldberger as their new CEO. Goldberger was most recently President and CEO of Blue Nile and has also held positions at Target, Gilt Groupe, HayNeedle.com, and Amazon.com amongst other roles in his past.
- 7-Eleven is rolling out mobile checkout to select stores in New York City. The check out experience is tied into the 7Rewards loyalty program in the retailer’s mobile app. Customers would scan the barcodes of products they wish to purchase via the app, select their payment method, and then scan the app’s QR code at the store’s confirmation station prior to exiting.
